More about One-Up
|One-up is a crowd funding platform where young entrepreneurs can upload their campaigns and ask donations from the public in order to gain access to seed capital. Based on the idea, “small amounts from many donors”, donations begin from 5 euros.
One-up is a PRAKSIS BCC tool created to fulfil the need that young entrepreneurs have to access capital in order to start their business off.
NGO PRAKSIS gathers the money and is responsible to proportionately administer it to the beneficiary campaign holder, in line with the investment plan he/she has provided. This way, and with no commission added, we make sure that the money offered by the donors facilitates the exact purpose for which it has been gathered, until the last euro.
One-up is running since December 2015, and until today (* August 2016) has hosted 13 business campaigns and has attracted 7,315 donors from Greece, the USA, the UK, Germany, Cyprus, The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and France.
Terms of Participation:
|All BCC alumni can participate in One-Up, so long as they have successfully concluded a viable business plan, as well as any other entrepreneur that has provided PRAKSIS BCC with a comprehensive business plan that has been evaluated by the BCC team as realistic and viable.
One up was designed and constructed with the kind support of the Limmat Foundation.
What We Do
The PRAKSIS Business Coaching Center is a training, consulting and coaching center which supports entrepreneurship. The One-up platform is an extension of the BCC program providing entrepreneurs with alternative sources of financing, and donors with a new, simple and direct way to create real social impact on the individual, family and local levels. By helping to launch new businesses we support a society in a crisis-torn economy where jobs are limited. New businesses are the life-blood of an economy and at One-up we believe in encouraging local economies to grow, one individual and one business at a time. One-up connects business minds with a community that wants to see new ideas and new businesses thrive.
How It Started
The PRAKSIS Business Coaching Center was launched in 2014. The idea, concept, design and creation of the platform came from Paul Kidner who wanted to provide the missing link between the talent of Greek entrepreneurs and alternative sources of local financing but currently find it impossible to get the start they need. The economy has shriveled, loans have dried up and investment in SME’s has tanked. PRAKSIS created the Business Coaching Center, and One-up in order to address those needs and provide new life for businesses in Greece.
|Our Vision |
Our vision is for One-up to become a launch-pad for thriving new businesses. Where talented entrepreneurs can source the seed funding they need to get their business ventures off the ground and donors can measure the success rate of their funding.
Support a local business - its not just money!
As we grow, we’ll continue connecting people - who believe the support of new business is the best way for Greece to grow - with talented Greek entrepreneurs.
